More Alphabet Soup? Who is IBACP?

IBACP, "legally" known as the Independent Business Aviation Contract Professionals Association, Inc., has been created as a nonprofit organization to service the needs of the Business Aviation community, both for the Operators seeking high quality, temporary personnel, and the Contract Pilots and Flight Attendants seeking contract work (ICP--Independent Contract Professional).  IBACP members are self governed with the highest standards required in Corporate America.  This concept has been applauded by such organizations as the National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA), CAE SimuFlite, FlightSafety International, FACTS Emergency Training, and the three major aircraft insurance agencies.   Many of these organizations sit on our advisory board.

Why should you as a Business Aviation Contract Professional join IBACP?

·  Membership In IBACP automatically assures your customers that you are a highly qualified, prescreened Business Aviation Professional. There is no organization with higher standards, and no other organization that represents the unique needs of the Independent Contract Professional. (ICP)

·  Your fellow members are one of the greatest resources for information, networking and job leads.

·  To join your voice with other Independent Contract Professionals and unite to work towards the goal of dispelling the myth that ICP's are "out of work pilots and flight attendants" who can't hold a job or are simply unemployed gypsies and vagabonds.  The TSA is currently trying to sort out the role of the Independent Contract Professional.  They need to understand why we don't go get "real jobs".

·  IBACP will be able to keep a finger on the pulse of Business Aviation Security issues as they affect contract professionals.  Our alignment with NBAA and NATA Compliance will make our membership available as a resource to government agencies while they sort out these security issues. In addition, the membership will be kept aware and alert to issues that will affect them.

·  Membership in IBACP is a statement that you are serious about being a contract professional.  Independent Contract Professionals are most often self employed small business operators.  Our membership is open to part time contract professionals and job seekers, but only the most serious will tackle the rigors and expense of our membership standards.

Why should an operator use an IBACP member for their contract needs?

Business Aviation Current:  Participation in Business Aviation is a requirement will assure that our members understand Business Aviation and can function in that environment.  Contract professionals new to Business Aviation may only achieve Associate Membership, but their willingness to participate in IBACP without full membership indicates their seriousness about being an ICP.

Drug Tested: All IBACP members Voluntarily submit to pre-employment drug testing that is the same test that the FAA requires for part 135 operators. These tests are conducted by approved FAA vendors.

Security:    All IBACP members have been subject to Background checks and many of our members have undergone the "12-5" TSA Fingerprint CHRC required for Part 135 Operations

12 month currency in Manufacturer approved simulator based training.  IBACP Full Membership will expire when currency does.

Our members have the highest professional standards, and they are self imposed.  Not just anyone will qualify for full membership in IBACP.

Our Pilot members are not just "seat warmers".  You can count on them to be able to function as a full crewmember in either seat in the event of a malfunction or emergency.  All IBACP Pilot members are typed in the aircraft they are listed in, and are FAA Pilot-in-Command qualified, regardless of the job they perform.

Our Flight Attendant members are not just "cabin servers'.  They are integral members of the Flight Crew and can be counted on to handle in-flight emergencies with the passengers.  Our membership requirements for Flight Attendants go far and above the basics.  IBACP Membership for Flight Attendants expires with their lapse in 24 month Simulator based training currency.

Using the term IBACP Member is synonymous with "Background Checked, Drug Tested, and Qualified".
